How this Spanish placement test works

The questions adapt as you answer, using short situations involving plans, friendships, misunderstandings, and everyday conversations. You’ll answer between 12 and 20 questions focused on grammar, vocabulary, reading, and meaning in context. Choose the best answer without using any outside resources.

What do the Spanish levels mean?

A1 and A2 questions are focused more on beginner and elementary language use. B1 and B2 describe increasingly independent use of Spanish. C1 and C2 involve more advanced understanding, including implied meaning and subtle differences in expression.

What should I study after the test?

Your result includes a suggested practice activity to help you take the next step. Use it as a starting point, then explore Spanish lessons and quizzes that match what you want to improve.

Does this test assess speaking and listening?

Not at this time! This test focuses on reading and language use. Speaking and listening may be at different levels, so consider your experience with real conversations alongside your result.
